Goal of the Game
Collect 10 victory points to win. You earn points by:
- Building settlements (1 point each)
- Upgrading to cities (2 points each)
- Holding special titles: "Longest Road" or "Largest Army" (2 points each)

Resources & Terrain
Five Resource Types
- Hills → Brick
- Forests → Lumber
- Mountains → Ore
- Fields → Grain
- Pastures → Wool
- Deserts produce nothing






Dice Rules
- Roll two dice each turn
- Tiles with matching numbers produce resources

Rolling a 7:
- No resources produced
- Players with >7 cards discard half (round down)
- Move robber to block resources and steal from neighbors

Building Rules
Roads
- Cost: 1 Brick + 1 Lumber
- Must connect to existing roads/settlements
- Longest continuous road (5+ segments) earns 2 points

Settlements
- Cost: 1 Brick + 1 Lumber + 1 Wool + 1 Grain
- Place at tile intersections
- Must keep 2 empty spaces between other buildings

Cities
- Cost: 3 Ore + 2 Grain
- Replace existing settlements
- Produce double resources

Trading Tips
Bank Trades
- Basic rate: 4:1 (4 resources → 1 needed)

Harbors:
- Generic (3:1 for any resource)
- Special (2:1 for specific resource)

Player Trades
- Negotiate during your turn
- Make offers or counteroffers
- Watch for resource imbalances
Development Cards
Cost: 1 Ore + 1 Wool + 1 Grain

Card Types
- Knight: Move robber + steal resource
- Monopoly: Claim all of one resource type
- Road Building: Place 2 free roads
- Year of Plenty: Take any 2 resources
- Victory Point: Secret 1-point cards

Winning Strategies
Early Game
- Place settlements near 6/8 number tiles
- Secure 3+ resource types
- Build toward valuable harbors

Mid Game
- Expand road networks strategically
- Upgrade key settlements to cities
- Use Knights to disrupt opponents

Late Game
- Save Victory Point cards
- Monitor opponents' scores (shown above avatars)
- Use Monopoly cards for final push
