Frost Survival VR: Simple Beginner's Guide & Tips

This guide covers the basics of starting the game, building a shelter, and staying alive in the cold.

1. Starting the Game

  • Gather Basics: As soon as you start, look for rocks and sticks on the ground. You need these to make your first tools.
  • Choose a Spot: Look for a flat area near a river. This is the best place to build your base because you need water and wood.

2. Staying Alive

  • Keep Warm: Your hands will freeze. You must build a Campfire or Fireplace to stay warm.
  • Food and Water:
    • Food: You can eat mushrooms and berries at first, but they are not very good. The best food is rabbit meat.
    • Water: Do not drink dirty water from the river; it hurts your health. You need to make a Water Skin or Bucket to carry water, then boil it on the fire.
  • Sanity: Do not stay in the dark for too long. If your sanity gets low, you will see scary things.

3. Building and Wood

  • Cutting Trees: Use a rock or axe to cut trees.
    • Warning: When a tree falls, it can hit you and take away half your health. Always run away when the tree starts to fall.
  • Logs: You can split logs into Half Logs or Quarter Logs. Different parts of the house need different sizes.
  • VR Tip: You can throw logs to your building spot. It is faster than carrying them, but be careful not to miss.

4. Tools and Crafting

You need a crafting station to make better items. Here are the important tools:

Item Materials Use
Stone Axe 2 Rocks, 1 Stick Cuts trees faster, good for fighting.
Stone Knife 1 Rock, 1 Stick Skins rabbits for leather.
Spear 1 Stick Used for fishing or hunting.
Torch Stick, Dry Grass Lights up the dark.
Water Skin Rabbit Hide Holds water.

5. Hunting and Cooking

  • Hunt: Find a rabbit and hit it with your axe or spear.
  • Skin: Use the Stone Knife on the dead rabbit to get Raw Meat and Rabbit Skin.
  • Cook: Put the raw meat on the fire. Cooked Meat fills your hunger bar more than raw meat.

  • Night Time: It is dangerous at night. Monsters or wolves might come. Close your doors and windows.
  • Expand: Your first small cabin is just for starting. Later, you can build a bigger house.
  • Boil Water: Making a fireplace to boil water is very important for your health.
