Surviving Mars Pioneer: Complete Beginner's Guide
1. Basic Controls
Adapt to Controls
The controls may feel awkward at first, but you'll get used to them. Developers are working on improvements.
Rotate Objects
Press the B button on your right controller while building. Avoid holding the grip button during rotation.
Exit Your Ship
After crashing, grab the key near the door, insert it, and open the door to step onto Mars.

2. Survival Essentials
Oxygen Management
Oxygen drains once you leave the ship. Build your habitat first to replenish oxygen indoors.
Eating Rules
You can only eat inside your habitat. Opening your helmet outdoors will suffocate you (the game blocks this, but stay realistic).

3. Building & Expanding
Habitat Placement
Don't build too close to your landing pod. Leave space for future expansions.
Explore the Cave Early
Visiting the cave unlocks a second habitat (spoiler alert!), solving early space issues.
Power Setup
- Build a wind turbine
- Place a power terminal and connect it directly to your habitat
- Each habitat needs its own power terminal, even if connected

4. Resources & Missions
Research Points
Collect them from completed missions in your mission log (open via left controller buttons).
Earning Money
Build a spaceship, accept contracts, mine resources, and ship them off-world.
Mineral Locations
The starting area has limited resources. Minerals like aluminum are found in other 10 regions—unlock them later.

5. Quick Tips
Fast Storage
Use the "store all" button when moving items to storage. No need to drag each item.
Map Navigation
Check the region map (left controller button) to locate caves and plan exploration.

6. Important Notes
Early Access
The game is still in development. Expect occasional bugs and be patient—the team is small.

Pro Tip
Unlock the hover bike to explore Mars freely. Watch the sky rotate from day to night and see the Milky Way—it's relaxing and adds to the immersion!
